Nomenclatural History
|
The species Clostridium piliforme was originally described by Tyzzer 1917. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1993 the name was revived and validly published by Duncan et al.. In 2013, Yutin and Galperin established Clostridium piliforme as the basonym of
Tyzzerella piliformis (Duncan et al. 1993) Yutin and Galperin 2013
