Nomenclatural History
The species Clostridium sardiniense was originally described by Prévot 1938. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Cato et al. corrected this name from (sic) to . Wang et al. published an emended description of this species in 2005. Wang et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Nakamura et al. 1973 (Approved Lists 1980) in 2005.
