Nomenclatural History
|
The species Clostridium thermautotrophicum was originally described by Wiegel et al. 1981. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 9 in 1982. Cato et al. corrected this name from Clostridium thermoautotrophicum (sic) to Clostridium thermautotrophicum . In 1994, Collins et al. established Clostridium thermautotrophicum as the basonym of
Moorella thermoautotrophica (Wiegel et al. 1982) Collins et al. 1994
