Nomenclatural History
|
The species Clostridium thermosulfurigenes was originally described by Schink and Zeikus 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 12 in 1983. Cato et al. corrected this name from Clostridium thermosulfurogenes (sic) to Clostridium thermosulfurigenes . In 1993, Lee et al. established Clostridium thermosulfurigenes as the basonym of
Thermoanaerobacterium thermosulfurigenes (Schink and Zeikus 1983) Lee et al. 1993
