Nomenclatural History
The species Clostridium ultunense was originally described and validly published by Schnürer et al. 1996. In 2019, Lawson established as the basonym of (Schnürer et al. 1996) Lawson 2020 .

Wu et al. 2020 suggest that this species is misclassified and belongs in the family Tissierellaceae.
