Nomenclatural History

The species Acetivibrio cellulolyticus was originally described and validly published by Patel et al. 1980. Murray established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Acetivibrio cellulosolvens Khan et al. 1984
in 1986. In 2018, Zhang et al. established Acetivibrio cellulolyticus as the basonym of
Hungateiclostridium cellulolyticum (Patel et al. 1980) Zhang et al. 2018
.
