The species Caloramator fervidus was originally described and validly published by Collins et al. 1994. Ogg and Patel published an emended description of this species in 2011. Collins et al. formed this name in 1994 by placing the species
Clostridium fervidum corrig. Patel et al. 1987
into the genus Caloramator Collins et al. 1994 emend. Ogg and Patel 2011.
