Nomenclatural History
The species Ruminococcus hansenii was originally described and validly published by Ezaki et al. 1994. Ezaki et al. formed this name in 1994 by placing the species Holdeman and Moore 1974 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Sijpesteijn 1948 emend. Rogosa 1974 (Approved Lists 1980). In 2008, Liu et al. established as the basonym of (Holdeman and Moore 1974) Liu et al. 2008 .
