Nomenclatural History	The species Peptostreptococcus indolicus was originally described and validly published by Ezaki et al. 1983. Ezaki et al. formed this name in 1983 by placing the species Peptococcus indolicus (Christiansen 1934) Sorensen 1975 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Peptostreptococcus Kluyver and van Niel 1936 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Ezaki et al. 2001. In 2001, Ezaki et al. established Peptostreptococcus indolicus as the basonym of Peptoniphilus indolicus (Christiansen 1934) Ezaki et al. 2001 .
