Nomenclatural History	The species Peptostreptococcus magnus was originally described and validly published by Ezaki et al. 1983. Ezaki et al. formed this name in 1983 by placing the species Peptococcus magnus (Prévot 1933) Holdeman and Moore 1972 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Peptostreptococcus Kluyver and van Niel 1936 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Ezaki et al. 2001. In 1999, Murdoch and Shah established Peptostreptococcus magnus as the basonym of Finegoldia magna (Prévot 1933) Murdoch and Shah 2000 .
