Nomenclatural History	The species Peptostreptococcus prevotii was originally described and validly published by Ezaki et al. 1983. Ezaki et al. formed this name in 1983 by placing the species Peptococcus prevotii (Foubert and Douglas 1948) Douglas 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Peptostreptococcus Kluyver and van Niel 1936 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Ezaki et al. 2001. In 2001, Ezaki et al. established Peptostreptococcus prevotii as the basonym of Anaerococcus prevotii (Foubert and Douglas 1948) Ezaki et al. 2001 .
