The genus Micromonas was originally proposed by Murdoch and Shah 1999. This name was validly published by List Editor 2000. Tindall and Euzéby replaced this illegitimate name with
Parvimonas Tindall and Euzéby 2006
in 2006.
This name contravenes Rule 51b(4).
