The species Eubacterium angustum was originally described by Beuscher and Andreesen 1984. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 19 in 1985. In 2017, Poehlein et al. established Eubacterium angustum as the basonym of
Andreesenia angusta (Beuscher and Andreesen 1985) Poehlein et al. 2017
