The species Eubacterium exiguum was originally described and validly published by Poco et al. 1996. In 1999, Wade et al. established Eubacterium exiguum as the basonym of
Slackia exigua (Poco et al. 1996) Wade et al. 1999 emend. Nouioui et al. 2018
.
