Nomenclatural History

The family Peptococcaceae was originally proposed by Rogosa 1971. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Stackebrandt published an emended description of this family in 2014. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Lv et al. in 2020.
