The species Peptococcus glycinophilus was originally described by Douglas 1957. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Cato et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Peptostreptococcus micros (Prévot 1933) Smith 1957 (Approved Lists 1980)
in 1983.
