Nomenclatural History
The species Desulfitobacterium hafniense was originally described and validly published by Christiansen and Ahring 1996. Niggemyer et al. published an emended description of this species in 2001. Niggemyer et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Bouchard et al. 1996 in 2001.
