Nomenclatural History

The species Hydrogenobacter hydrogenophilus was originally described and validly published by Stöhr et al. 2001. Stöhr et al. formed this name in 2001 by placing the species
Calderobacterium hydrogenophilum Kryukov et al. 1984
into the genus Hydrogenobacter Kawasumi et al. 1984.
This name is illegitimate due to the genus Calderobacterium having priority over Hydrogenobacter.
