Nomenclatural History
|
The genus Megasphaera was originally proposed by Rogosa 1971. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Rogosa published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Marchandin et al. in 2003.
