Nomenclatural History
|
The species Moorella thermoacetica was originally described and validly published by Collins et al. 1994. Collins et al. formed this name in 1994 by placing the species
Clostridium thermaceticum corrig. Fontaine et al. 1942 (Approved Lists 1980)
into the genus Moorella Collins et al. 1994. Redl et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of
Moorella thermoautotrophica (Wiegel et al. 1982) Collins et al. 1994
in 2019.
