Nomenclatural History
The species Thermoanaerobacter acetoethylicus was originally described and validly published by Rainey and Stackebrandt 1993. Rainey and Stackebrandt formed this name in 1993 by placing the species Ben-Bassat and Zeikus 1983 into the genus Wiegel and Ljungdahl 1982 emend. Lee et al. 2007.
