Nomenclatural History
The genus Eperythrozoon was originally proposed by Schilling 1928. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Kreier and Ristic published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Gupta et al. in 2018.
