Nomenclatural History

The genus Haemobartonella was originally proposed by Tyzzer and Weinman 1939. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Kreier and Ristic published an emended description of this genus in 1974. Neimark et al. transferred the members of this genus into
Mycoplasma Nowak 1929 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Gupta et al. 2018
in 2002.
