Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 15 in 1984. The species Haemobartonella felis was originally described by Clark 1942. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived by Kreier and Ristic. In 2002, Neimark et al. established as the basonym of Neimark et al. 2002 .
