Nomenclatural History
The genus Erysipelothrix was originally proposed by Rosenbach 1909. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Seeliger published an emended description of this genus in 1974. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Eisenberg et al. in 2022.
