Nomenclatural History
The genus Thermosipho was originally proposed by Huber et al. 1989. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 31 in 1989. Ravot et al. published an emended description of this genus in 1996. A subsequent emendation was proposed by Bhandari and Gupta in 2014.
