The species Bacillus acidoterrestris was originally described by Deinhard et al. 1987. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 25 in 1988. In 1992, Wisotzkey et al. established as the basonym of (Deinhard et al. 1988) Wisotzkey et al. 1992 .
