Nomenclatural History
The species Bacillus agri was originally described by Laubach and Rice 1916. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1993 the name was revived and validly published by Nakamura. Shida et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Takagi et al. 1993 in 1994. In 1996, Shida et al. established as the basonym of (Nakamura 1993) Shida et al. 1996 .
