Nomenclatural History
|
The species Bacillus amylolyticus was originally described by Choukévitch 1911. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived and validly published by Nakamura. In 1993, Ash et al. established Bacillus amylolyticus as the basonym of
Paenibacillus amylolyticus (Nakamura 1984) Ash et al. 1994 emend. Shida et al. 1997
