Nomenclatural History
|
The species Bacillus centrosporus was originally described by Ford et al. 1916. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1993 the name was revived and validly published by Nakamura. In 1996, Shida et al. established Bacillus centrosporus as the basonym of
Brevibacillus centrosporus (Nakamura 1993) Shida et al. 1996
