Nomenclatural History
|
The species Bacillus lautus was originally described by Batchelor 1919. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived and validly published by Nakamura. In 1996, Heyndrickx et al. established Bacillus lautus as the basonym of
Paenibacillus lautus (Nakamura 1984) Heyndrickx et al. 1996
