Nomenclatural History
The genus Thermodesulfobacterium was originally proposed by Zeikus et al. 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 52 in 1995. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 71 in 2003. Jeanthon et al. published an emended description of this genus in 2002.
