Nomenclatural History	The species Bacillus pantothenticus was originally described by Proom and Knight 1950. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. In 1998, Heyndrickx et al. established Bacillus pantothenticus as the basonym of Virgibacillus pantothenticus (Proom and Knight 1950) Heyndrickx et al. 1998 emend. Heyndrickx et al. 1999 .
