Nomenclatural History
|
The species Bacillus psychrophilus was originally described by Larkin and Stokes 1967. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived and validly published by Nakamura. In 2001, Yoon et al. established Bacillus psychrophilus as the basonym of
Sporosarcina psychrophila (Nakamura 1984) Yoon et al. 2001
