Nomenclatural History
This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 28 in 1989. The species Bacillus psychrosaccharolyticus was originally described by Larkin and Stokes 1967. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1988 the name was revived by Priest et al.. In 2020, Patel and Gupta established as the basonym of (Priest et al. 1989) Patel and Gupta 2020 .
