Nomenclatural History
The species Bacillus thermoamylovorans was originally described and validly published by Combet-Blanc et al. 1995. Coorevits et al. published an emended description of this species in 2011. In 2020, Gupta et al. established as the basonym of (Combet-Blanc et al. 1995) Gupta et al. 2020 .

Tindall 2019 asserts that only a single nomenclatural type has been made in conformity with Rule 30. Since this name was Validly Published prior to 2001, this does not contravene Rule 30, which is not retroactive. Therefore, this name continues to have standing in nomenclature.
