Nomenclatural History
The species Bacillus thermoruber was originally described by Guicciardi et al. 1968. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1985 the name was revived and validly published by Manachini et al.. In 1996, Shida et al. established as the basonym of (Manachini et al. 1985) Shida et al. 1996 .
