Nomenclatural History
|
The species Bacillus validus was originally described by Bredemann and Heigener 1935. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived and validly published by Nakamura. In 1993, Ash et al. established Bacillus validus as the basonym of
Paenibacillus validus (Nakamura 1984) Ash et al. 1994
