Nomenclatural History
The species Geobacillus kaustophilus was originally described and validly published by Nazina et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Nazina et al. formed this name in 2001 by placing the species (ex Prickett 1928) Priest et al. 1989 into the genus Nazina et al. 2001 emend. Aliyu et al. 2018.
