Nomenclatural History
The species Marinibacillus marinus was originally described and validly published by Yoon et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Yoon et al. formed this name in 2001 by placing the species (Rüger and Richter 1979) Rüger 1983 emend. Rüger et al. 2000 into the genus Yoon et al. 2001 emend. Yaakop et al. 2015. In 2010, Yoon et al. established as the basonym of (Rüger and Richter 1979) Yoon et al. 2010 .
