The species Paenibacillus lentimorbus was originally described and validly published by Pettersson et al. 1999. Pettersson et al. formed this name in 1999 by placing the species Dutky 1940 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Ash et al. 1994 emend. Huang et al. 2017.
