Nomenclatural History
The species Paenibacillus pulvifaciens was originally described by Ash et al. 1993. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 51 in 1994. Ash et al. formed this name in 1993 by placing the species (ex Katznelson 1950) Nakamura 1984 into the genus Ash et al. 1994 emend. Huang et al. 2017. Heyndrickx et al. elevated this species to the rank of subspecies to form the name (Nakamura 1984) Heyndrickx et al. 1996 in 1996. Heyndrickx et al. established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of (White 1906) Ash et al. 1994 emend. Genersch et al. 2006 in 1996.
