Nomenclatural History	The species Deinococcus radiopugnans was originally described and validly published by Brooks and Murray 1981. Lakra et al. published an emended description of this species in 2021. Lakra et al. established this name as an earlier heterotypic synonym of Deinococcus swuensis Lee et al. 2015 in 2021.
