Nomenclatural History	The species Sporosarcina halophila was originally described by Claus et al. 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 14 in 1984. In 1996, Spring et al. established Sporosarcina halophila as the basonym of Halobacillus halophilus (Claus et al. 1984) Spring et al. 1996 .
