Nomenclatural History
The species Sporosarcina pasteurii was originally described and validly published by Yoon et al. 2001. This name was affected by Judicial Opinion 81 in 2008. Yoon et al. formed this name in 2001 by placing the species (Miquel 1889) Chester 1898 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Kluyver and van Niel 1936 (Approved Lists 1980) emend.
