Nomenclatural History
The species Staphylococcus lentus was originally described by Schleifer et al. 1983. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 12 in 1983. Schleifer et al. elevated the subspecies Kloos et al. 1976 (Approved Lists 1980) to the rank of species to form this name in 1983. In 2020, Madhaiyan et al. established as the basonym of (Kloos et al. 1976) Madhaiyan et al. 2020 .
