Nomenclatural History
The species Staphylococcus saccharolyticus was originally described by Kilpper-Bälz and Schleifer 1981. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 13 in 1984. Kilpper-Bälz and Schleifer formed this name in 1981 by placing the species (Foubert and Douglas 1948) Douglas 1957 (Approved Lists 1980) into the genus Rosenbach 1884 emend. Baird-Parker 1974 (Approved Lists 1980).
