Nomenclatural History
The species Thermus ruber was originally described by Loginova and Egorova 1975. It pre-dated the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names but was excluded from those lists. In 1984 the name was revived and validly published by Loginova et al.. In 1996, Nobre et al. established as the basonym of (Loginova et al. 1984) Nobre et al. 1996 emend. García-López et al. 2019 .
