Nomenclatural History
|
The species Lactobacillus bavaricus was originally described by Stetter and Stetter 1980. This name became validly published when it appeared on Validation List No. 4 in 1980. Kagermeier-Callaway and Lauer established this name as a later heterotypic synonym of
Lactobacillus sakei corrig. Katagiri et al. 1934 (Approved Lists 1980) emend. Klein et al. 1996
in 1995.
