Nomenclatural History
The species Meiothermus ruber was originally described and validly published by Nobre et al. 1996. García-López et al. published an emended description of this species in 2019. Nobre et al. formed this name in 1996 by placing the species (ex Loginova and Egorova 1975) Loginova et al. 1984 into the genus Nobre et al. 1996 emend. Jiao et al. 2022.
